First Snow was inspired by the quiet stillness that settles over the forest after a fresh snowfall. There’s something calming about the way snow softens the landscape, muffles sound, and transforms familiar places into something that feels new.
I painted this piece on a natural wood slice because I wanted the artwork to feel connected to the forest itself. The bark edge and unique grain become part of the composition, reminding us that nature is beautifully imperfect.
